Bunkie Knudsen's One-Off '63 Corvette Convertible

[/caption] Bob McDorman loves his Chevrolets and up for bids at Mecum’s November 5-6 auction are 150 from his personal collection. Though there are a number of early antiques and classics in the mix, the majority of the lot is filled with Corvettes. In fact, every production year of the Corvette is represented in this collection from 1953 all the way up to 2009 with many of the marque’s most famous years getting multiple vehicles listed. Star of the auction, however, is Bunkie Knudsen’s one-off 1963 Corvette Convertible (serial number #148). It will…

1964 Pontiac Banshee Coupe Prototype, 1 of 1

[/caption] Here it is. The only Banshee Coupe prototype built (one other was built as a convertible). It is in original condition, has only 1,498 miles on the odometer and will be crossing the block at Mecum’s Monterey auction on August 14. Dreamed up by Delorean to solidify Pontiac’s place as a true performance division and compete with Ford’s wildy successful Mustang, it was promptly killed off by corporate management, primarily Chevrolet executives, who saw it’s potential of having too much power and a challenge to the Corvette. The Banshee coupe prototype…
