[/caption] Lamborghini has just unveiled the Gallardo LP570-4 Spyder Performante at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Essentially a ‘Superlegerra’ version of the Gallardo Spyder, the Performante is a lightweight version of the baby droptop and is powered by the company’s 570 horsepower 5.2 liter V10 engine. Equipped with bits of CFRP used so abundantly in the creation of the Sesto Elemento, the Performante drops 143 pounds and is billed as ‘Less Weight, More Fascination’. 0-60 mph comes in just 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 201 mph. It’s Official: Porsche Debuts Lightweight Caymen R

[/caption] The rumors were true – Porsche officially debuted its ‘Caymen R’ at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show; a lightweight version of the company’s Caymen S mid-engined sports car . The Caymen R drops 121 pounds and adds 10 horsepower over the 3.4 liter six-cylinder engine found in the Caymen S. Now sporting 330 horsepower and a ‘specially adapted’ chassis 0-60 comes in 5 seconds when equipped with the six-speed manual transmission and 4.7 seconds when opting for Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch system.
