2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S

[/caption] So, it’s that time again. Porsche has unveiled the all-new 911 and is sending it to Frankfurt for its first appearance in a couple weeks. Codenamed the 991, the new model is 3.9″ longer, sits a bit wider, and has dropped 100 pounds. Both the base Carrera and the Carrera S produce more horsepower (350 and 400) yet consume less fuel than their outgoing counterparts. The interior has also been shifted to be more in line with that of the Panamera. With 48 years of what occurs like the most minimal design evolution…

Porsche 911 Interior Spy thumb 717x477 2012 Porsche 911 Interior Re Design Spied The eagle eyes over at Brian Williams / Brenda Priddy & Company have snapped the re-designed interior of Porsche’s next 911. Clearly, Porsche is taking the Panamera’s design as inspiration and has bathed the center console with more buttons than we could care to comprehend. Despite the button madness, the good news is that the 911′s interior continues to get more and more luxurious and we’re also seeing Porsche’s PDK steering wheel with proper paddle shifters to go with their dual clutch gearbox. Expect to see the official reveal soon. Stay tuned. [Source: InsideLine]

Porsche 911 Speedster

[/caption] Now that we’re a bit closer to this year’s Paris Motor Show, Porsche has launched its full microsite for the new 911 Speedster. While the Boxster Speedster doesn’t exactly have a heritage, the new 911 is all about commemorating the original 356 Speedster from the 1950s. The fourth-generation incarnation will be limited to 356 units and be built by Porsche Exclusive. This is the same division responsible for the Sport Classic and like the Classic’s ode to the past, the upcoming Speedster will feature the same modern interpretation of the iconic Fuchs wheels. Color choices…

It sports 23 more horsepower than the standard ‘S’, yet consumes the same amount of fuel thanks to ‘Porsche Intelligent Performance’ wizardry. The GTS also hits its 310 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm; 200 rpm earlier than the Carrera S. The exterior is given the same wider body that appears on the Carrera 4S models and receives black 19″ center-mount RS Spyder wheels with high-gloss rim flanges. Custom front and rear fascias as well as side skirting and GTS logo…

Spy Shot: Next Generation Porsche 911

[/caption] The next generation Porsche 911 is set to hit dealers late next year. As usual, the exterior updates won’t be anything earth shattering and the new model will likely appear to be that special touch more in the present to make the outgoing model look a bit dated. The upcoming 911 has been stretched slightly as well as given a wider stance. Included in the wider stance are widened wings making room for 20″ wheels (tuners, are you listening?). Front and rear overhangs will remain unchanged. Revised power plants will reportedly start with…

Porsche released the Boxster Speedster and has been seen working on a 911 version for awhile now. Word is the new roadster will be ready and displayed at this year’s Paris Motor Show.

If Porsche does indeed decide to put the 911 Speedster into limited production, expect the weight to be stripped, as well as the interior accouterments, but with a lofty price tag.
