Factory Five Racing Mk4 Roadster

[/caption] First a little history thanks to our buddies at Autoblog – Shelby and Factory Five have been fighting for years and had already put two lawsuits behind them. The first in 2000 when Shelby sued Factory Five attempting to block them from building any more replicas of the famous roadster and Daytona Coupe. Shelby lost, but won the stipulation that Factory Five Racing could continue building cars as long as the company didn’t use, or reference, the terms ‘Cobra’, ’427 S/C’, ‘Shelby’, ‘Shelby Cobra’, ‘Daytona Coupe’ or ‘Daytona Coupe Cobra’. In 2008, Shelby cried…

Shelby GTS

[/caption] Carroll Shelby, just a couple years away from age 90, announced back in June that the 2011 GT350 will likely be his last in that the company is looking to build fewer cars and sell more parts. It makes sense then that the company is reportedly asking for feedback from their customer base on which of their various aftermarket projects should get the green light. The first project looks at slapping twin-turbochargers on the V6 Mustang as well as the V8 GT model, both likely to be dubbed the Shelby GTS, with the packages expected to…

Classic Recreations' Shelby GT500CR

[/caption] Early last month, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation raided Classic Recreations on the hunt for stolen equipment, accusations that arose from a disgruntled ex-employee. The OSBI confiscated a number of vintage Mustangs in the process. After a month of false accusations and red-tape, all vehicles have now been returned to the shop with Classic Recreations and their owner Jason Engel cleared of any and all illegal activity. Unfortunately, the story is not over. Though investigators did not find any stolen equipment, the OSBI has gone on to accuse Jason Engel of not following…

They include one of the three ’65 Shelby GT350 Fastback Prototypes, a rare 1965 Shelby GT350 Drag Unit and a one-of-a-kind ’66 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster CSX3102. Shelby Mustangs always fetch high bids at auction, but of the 562 ’65 GT350s produced, this Fastback Prototype is one of only three created. Used for engineering purposes, it remained with Shelby American until May 11, 1967 when it was sold to Shelby’s Hi-Performance Motors…

Despite some modern metal and a Duesenberg, the most standout rarity for us is a 1957 BMW 507 Series II. Only 235 of these V8 beauties were built with this example showing only 35,116 miles on the odometer. With its current bid at $520,100, the reserve is not yet met with just over 6 hours remaining.
